Hoskins Funerals Direct is an Independent Funeral Service and we believe that we can offer a funeral to fit any budget and circumstance whether it is simple or bespoke.
We keep our overheads manageable so that we can share the benefits of this with you, and during our numerous combined years in the industry we are continually sourcing and selecting suppliers that offer quality as well as value for money so that we can offer you the same service.
When we offer an affordable Funeral it certainly does not mean a compromise in the quality of service that we provide for you and your loved one, before, during and after the service. You will receive the best of Care at all times.
We will be transparent, honest and fair with you about pricing and will not try to sell you a funeral that is not fitting for your loved one or which is outside of your budget, so, when we give you an Estimate of Costs it will not include FROM £xxx.xx The price that we will give you is the actual cost based on current prices from third party suppliers.
We pride ourselves in guiding you through the process of selecting what YOU feel is right and help YOU make the decisions that fit YOUR needs.
Included in the Funeral Directors charge are the following:

24 hour telephone support

All administration relating to the funeral arrangements including the preparation and completion of statutory documentation

Liasing with third parties on your behalf

Placing of newspaper social media notices

The use of our Chapel of Rest (by appointment within office hours)

Care of your loved one including removal of devices and dressing in preparation for viewing

Services of a Funeral Director to conduct the Funeral
Our professional fees include a percentage of business overheads which include insurances, utilities and building costs.
It costs nothing to talk and we appreciate that questions occur at ‘odd’ times and we are always here to answer them for you.
Attended Funeral
A funeral where family and friends hold a ceremony for the deceased, at the same time, that they attend their burial or cremation.
Taking care of all necessary legal and administrative arrangements £1450
Collecting and transporting the deceased from the place of death (normally within a 30 miles area of the funeral director’s premises) into the Funeral Director’s care. £230
Care of the deceased person before the funeral in appropriate facilities. The deceased person will be kept at the funeral director’s premises - Included
Providing a suitable light veneered wood coffin £440
Chapel visit of the deceased person for family and friends, by appointment with the funeral director (where viewing is requested by the client) – by appointment - Included
At a date and time agreed with the Funeral Director, taking the deceased to the agreed cemetery or crematorium in a hearse. £350

Unattended Funeral
This is a funeral where family may choose to have a ceremony, event or service for the deceased person, but they do not attend the burial or cremation itself.
Burial (Funeral Director’s charges only) £1450
Unattended Cremation
Includes: Necessary paperwork, bringing deceased into our Care from within a 30 mile radius of the Funeral Home, a suitable coffin, conveying to a local crematorium for cremation, collection and storage of ashes.
Cremation £1750
Fees you must pay:
For an Attended or Unattended burial, the burial plot.
For an existing grave with a memorial in place, you may need to pay a removal/replacement fee.
In addition, the cemetery charge a number of other fees.
This fee (which is sometimes called the interment fee) is the charge made for digging and closing a new grave, or for re-opening and closing an existing grave.
For an Attended cremation funeral, the cremation fee.
In this area, the typical cost of a cremation at The Vale Crematorium is: £1425
